I liked all of his books but my favourite was the BFG because of all the funny words and sayings like ‘snozcumber’!

    Definitely the BFG.
I’ve loved it since I was a little girl. We used to watch the film all the time and my mum would read us the book.
Now my girls are big fans. They would love their own copy.

Matilda because she is a very clever little girl. By her own wit and skill she defeats not only her bullish headmistress but her awful parents too. Despite being so young she creates her own happy ending and teaches the bullies a lesson they won’t forget.

“Danny, the Champion of the World” was the first Roald Dahl book that I stumbled across in our local Canadian library and it led me to the wealth of great British authors available at our library.

  7. My little man already loves Charlie and The Chocolate Factory and I can’t wait for him to want to read the others. I loved The Witches as a child. I’d probably still love it now. #BloggerClubUK

  8. I can’t wait to read through all the Roald Dahl books again with my kids! I may have to read The Witches again on my own as thing kids will find it a bit sinister! #BloggerClubUK

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, because i love the story of the little boy from a poor family winning the golden ticket. All those other well off children are so amusing.

  11. I loved Roald Dahl as a kid. The stores were so clever and quite individual as well. I had audio tapes of the BFG and Matilda and I remember listening to them over and over again.

Mine has always been BFG and I used to pretend that I was Sophie and that I would get whisked away by the BFG to help create dreams.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It’s great to see that it wasn’t the spoiled kids that got everything and that the morals of Charlie were what got him the factory.

Charlie and the chocolate factory, because it has a lot of chocolate in it, and I find it funny in places

  18. Laura Lee

Ohhh thats a hard one, I love them all. I really do love the magic of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory but love the funniness of Matilda.
