Welcome to the Blogger Spotlight Interview. This week we have Mama Grace from Bards for Babes taking part in the Blogger Spotlight interview.
If you would like to take part, and your blog is under six months old, or has been re-launched in the last six months, please email me firstname.lastname@example.org
1 Firstly, tell us a little bit about yourself
I’m mum to Grace (Mama Grace) and a travelling wife, who left London (for the time being) to join my humanitarian husband to start a family.
I’m a trained actress but I also worked in the education sector, particularly with young people with special educational needs and behavioural problems.
2 What is your blog’s name and what is it about?
Bards for Babes is a place where I put up the poems I’ve written for Grace and hope that others can get something out of them too.
3 Why did you decide to start a blog?
Ultimately I’m a creative and I love to produce, so I needed a vehicle for my creative energy and Bards for Babes is that.
When you act the journey is completed when you perform and because of the audience, well in theatre anyway, TV and film has a different time frame and payback.
It can be scary having an audience because you are open to allowing how that person feels about your work coming back to you, good or bad but that’s the journey and I love it.
I wanted that for my writing. I wanted the journey to be complete and I wanted them to escape my laptop and be read and enjoyed.
I wanted Bards for Babes to be read by other mothers to their children.
4 Do you have any goals for your blog?
To connect on an emotional level with as wide an audience as possible. I hope that there are moments all over the world, where a mum or dad reads my poetry in a solitary moment or to their kids and they’ve taken pleasure from the words.
5 Tell us one random fact about you
I’m a twin.
6 What is the best piece of blog related advice you have received so far?
To participate in Linkys, you get to read other blogs and see what you like and what you don’t like and it informs the choices you make.
7 What is your favourite thing about blogging?
8 Is there anything you would do differently if you were starting over knowing what you know now?
I think it’s still too early to tell, you’d have to ask me in another 6 months.
9 Where can we find you? (blog link and links to any social media)
