April is here again and it’s time for this year’s A to Z Challenge. This year, my theme is motivational quotes. Each 
Monday to Saturday throughout April I will be posting a motivational quote each day starting with the letters A through to Z.
It’s traditional through the challenge to keep posts short and sweet, so that’s what I’ll be doing. Just a quick explanation of why I chose each quote and what it means to me.
Day 11 – K
“Keep going – the expert in anything was once a beginner”
This is a quote I regularly remind myself of when I am doing techy stuff on the blog. Before I started this blog, the term HTML meant as much to me as something written in Martian. Now, while I am by no means an expert, I know enough to get by and I’m learning all the time.
Whenever I’m trying to do something new with code, I remind myself that the techy whizz kid who makes it look easy was once a beginner – he/she once stumbled around breaking things and slamming down anything they can get their hands on.
What did they do after that? They persevered and continued to experiment and learn. And if they an do that why can’t you or I do the same?
Whatever it is that you’re starting out in, remember, even the experts started out as beginners!

This certainly applies to blogging doesn’t it – when I think how little I knew when I started, how much I’ve learned (and subsequently forgotten) and how much there is still to go, it blows me away!

It sure does – I remember knowing nothing at all in the beginning and looking at these sites getting thousands of views a month and just being blown away. But we keep going and learning!

That’s a great quote. Everyone had to start somewhere.
I remember a keynote speaker at a project management seminar I attended. He brought up that fact – we expect to be perfect the first time, forgetting that it takes patience and practice.
