This week, we have Charlie from Charlie Bloggs taking part in the Blogger Spotlight interview.
If you would like to take part, and your blog is under six months old, or has been re-launched in the last six months, please email me firstname.lastname@example.org
1 Firstly, tell us a little bit about yourself
I’m Charlie – I’m 28, recently married and I live in Sussex.
2 What is your blog’s name and what is it about?
My blog’s name is Charlie Bloggs – I purposely kept it as generic as possible to write about anything. Since I started I’ve posted recipes, fashion and lifestyle content, but I’m planning to do more beauty and fitness and perhaps other topics in the future.
3 Why did you decide to start a blog?
I’ve been thinking about it for a while. I really love writing (I write a lot in my day job too) and like the chatty, informal way that blog posts come across. I also discovered I had a lot of spare time after planning a wedding, so I thought I’d give it a go!
4 Do you have any goals for your blog?
I set monthly visitor targets and also try to decide in advance how many times I’ll post each month. I find even little targets have kept me motivated and help to manage my time. In the future, I’d love to reach a bigger goal, like getting 10,000 visitors a month.
5 Tell us one random fact about you
I really hate bananas and can’t even sit next to someone eating one – yuck.
6 What is the best piece of blog related advice you have received so far?
I was lucky to work with Chanel Boateng (a beauty YouTuber) a while ago and she said to always take photos using daylight. My photography skills are something I need to work on so any advice in that area is useful to me.
7 What is your favourite thing about blogging?
I love the accomplishment of publishing a post, it’s so exciting to see it come together. I also love feedback – comments and people interacting with you on social media. It’s so nice to think someone has read what you’ve posted.
8 Is there anything you would do differently if you were starting over knowing what you know now?
I don’t think so, I’ve really enjoyed learning along the way (although I’m sure I still have a long way to go)
9 Anything else you’d like to share with us?
I love discovering new blogs to read so would welcome any recommendations.
10 Where can we find you? (blog link and links to any social media)
