This week’s thought of the week is:
If people say they just love the smell of books, I always want to pull them aside and ask, “To be clear, do you know how reading works?”
I love this, and as soon as I spotted it, I knew it would be my thought for this week.
It really made me laugh, because I am the person that says they love the smell of books all the time. And yes, I am that crazy person that won’t start reading a new book until I’ve opened it at random and smelt the pages – even if I’ in a public place.
So if you ever spot a weirdo sniffing at a book, it’s probably me, come say hi 🙂

I rarely buy a brand new book but am quite content to splurge an obscene amount of cash on the second hand versions. I love the smell of pre-loved books (discounting the potential associated health risks)…the older the book the better. Is that weird? #candidcuddles
No, not weird at all, I do it with old books too, as long as they look reasonably clean 🙂

Yes I do too – I love a good book smell. Carrie in SITC talks about the smell of library books in one episode, every time I do it, I smile because it reminds me of that scene. A great quote xx

Depends on the book. Some books don’t have that smell.
Some smell different to each other, but I still like the smell of them all
