  1. Sad. I guess all of us are haunted, to a certain extent, by regret, missed opportunities, and fear. I know my tend to pop up when I awake in the middle of the night – and then lie there, churning things over. Fortunately there’s nothing quite terrible enough to beckon death closer. I wonder what secrets your narrator harbors?

  2. We all have regrets, but most of us can live with them and move forward. Sadly, some of these tortured souls cannot. This was both moving and disturbing. Nicely done! 🙂

  3. At the age of 75, each day is special to me. I have been haunted by guilt since my husband died, mainly not knowing if I made the right decision re. his care or helped him enough. But I have never been haunted by death.

If you post is a short story only, it’s well done, and well, haunting.

Oooohhh, super chilly writing! I love it. Good emotion evoking.

  5. Rugged. Death is neither friend nor enemy. Remember, how you think gets you where you are. It can be hard, hard work to change your mind, but it can be done. Good luck!

The narrator is has a tortured soul, it seems. My kind of character. 🙂 Great job and looking forward to more of your writings throughout the challenge! Have a great week!

  7. It all starts off so innocently and relatable. We all have those feelings from time to time of being haunted by our mistakes – both real and imagined.

… and then the *darkness* creeps in and I’m left wondering what exactly did the narrator do? … and do I REALLY want to know?
