Throwing a Halloween party can seem a little daunting the first time, there’s a lot to think about. It can be really fun though if you just relax and enjoy it.
Make a list of everything you need to buy and another of everything you need to do.
You can now stop trying to think of everything, and hopefully this should leave you pretty calm.
The main elements to consider are:
1. Your Costume
Choose what you want to come as, and make sure you have all the bits and bobs you will need. If it involves particularly tricky make-up, have a practice run before the day.
2. Food and Drinks
Decide on which food you would like to serve. A finger buffet is by far the easiest to do and you can have it all prepared before the party so you don’t spend half the night cooking. Once you know how many are people are coming, you can work out quantities.
3. Decorations
This is such a fun one. Go as mad as your budget allows. If you don’t have a huge budget, improvise and make some things yourself. I have a post coming up Thursday on some fab little home made ghosts that are really cheap and easy to make.
4. Games/Entertainment
5. Playlist
If you get these right, your party will be a huge success.
When broken down, all the elements are pretty simple to do so take them one at a time. Stay tuned over the next few days as each day I will be adding some top tips for each category.
One other thing to take into account is your guest list. This one is pretty simple – invite the people you like.

Hi! We will be doing our annual halloween party with the kids this year and we can´t wait! I always ask each Mum and Dad to bring a plate of something (snack food) that way it makes for less work for the host with everyone pitching in and you can focus more on the decor 🙂 #twinklytuesday

Halloween food is so much fun to make. My personal favourite and one my boys loved was jelly worms. Make up green jelly, get a load of stawsm the ones with the bendy tops. Put a load together and put an elastic band round them, making sure the tops of the straws are pulled up. Stand rhe straws up in a bowl and pour the jelly into the straws. Let it set then remove the jelly worms from the straws.
