Welcome to day thirteen of the A-Z Challenge – M is for Matilda.
My theme for this year is “The A-Z of My Favourite Books and Authors”. Each day (except Sunday) will feature a book or author whose title or first or last name starts with the corresponding letter of the alphabet.

I know technically Matilda is a children’s book and it doesn’t really fit well with the rest of the books on the list, but I first developed a love for reading and writing creatively when I was a kid, and Roald Dahl was by far my favourite childhood author. Matilda was the first book of his I ever read and there was just something magical about it.
I couldn’t imagine making this kind of list without mentioning Matilda and Roald Dahl, and Quentin Blake too for the illustrations that brought the book and character’s to life for a child. Even now in my thirties I still have a collection of Roald Dahl books (and of course Matilda is one of them) which I do plan on rereading at some point. I don’t think you ever truly out grow Roald Dahl.

Have you read Matilda? Did you enjoy it? Let me know in the comments 🙂

I’ve seen the movie but not read the book. I thought the movie was cute.
Yeah I enjoyed the movie too, although I do think the book was much better
This is new. I shall add it t my list. 🙂
Hope you enjoy it!
I haven’t read Matilda, but when my children were young, we read several of Roald Dahl’s books including Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and The BFG. We loved both of those!
I loved those too 🙂
I loved Matilda! #BloggerClubUK
I’ve read nearly every Roald Dahl book in existence. He certainly helped form my live of reading growing up. Matilda is a favourite if mine, I have to admit #bloggerclubuk
Me too, his books will always have a place in my heart
Ooooh yes, Matilda was one of my favourite books!
The musical’s not half bad either. 😀
I haven’t seen the musical – I can imagine it being good though 🙂
I am a big fan of Roald Dahl. I have not read Mathilda
though. My fave Roald Dahl book is Esio Trot. Loved the movie too – Judie Dench and Dustin Hoffman were stellar!

I enjoyed Esio Trot too!
Just saw the movie, and it was great #BloggerClubUK
I liked the movie, but the book was better
Such a great author. The Fantastic Mr. Fox is my favorite, but Matilda is also excellent!
I love them all haha, but my favourite is a tie between Matilda and The Witches
