  1. My big mistake is I try to set my goals too big and complicated. I really struggle to break them down. I learned almost a reverse technique (which works because I usually DO know where I want to be) which is to set quite limited, but time focused goals almost building stairs – it really doesn’t work for everyone though.

What a very timely read! Just trying to plan some goals and getting overwhelmed. This is very helpful. Thank you. #anythinggoes

    • I used to just go with the flow, but I found I wasted so much time floundering around doing things that didn’t have any effect on my end goal that it was time for me to get organised and focus on what I really wanted to acheive

  3. My goals: write three more books, take those first steps in becoming a published author, finish my year of university with a high mark, keep homeschooling, and create beautiful photos. Busy, busy! But being passionate helps.

In my professional life I HAVE to set work goals both for my team and myself but when it comes to my home life I pretty much switch off. Perhaps it’s due to work overload and a sense of rebellion. However this year I want to make small changes to that. Your suggestion to break things down is a good one. Implementing a work life balance is going to be key for me this year. Wish me luck! #AnythingGoes

  5. Really powerful tips and I like the one about asking for help in particular. It can make such a difference if we show our vulnerable areas and ask out loud for support. Found you via your lovely linky Anything Goes

Excellent advice! I try to make my goals reasonable, don’t always succeed. BUT I do give myself a break if I fall a bit short.

    Happy New Year!

In the past I have always set really hard goals and given up! Now I try to set small, smart targets that I know I can achieve. Great and informative post. #anythinggoes

  8. Measurable, manageable and relevant… I’ve worked really hard at setting my targets for 2018and identifying the steps I need to take to achieve them. Great advice here #AnythingGoes

  9. This is a great idea but I still find it hard to keep sometimes because its the getting to the goal that clouds my mind, especially when I’m not sure of the steps I should take. But I like the idea and I am going to try this and see where it gets me:) #anythinggoes
