This sounds like an interesting take on a self help book. I guess the story makes it a bit more readable than just having lots of instructions. #AnythingGoes

  2. Interesting concept and I do like self help books, but I’m not sure that I could relate to a character like kate.

  3. I’ve never read a self help book so I have no idea whether I’d enjoy a story wrapped in one. I like the concept of this but I think I’d be like you. If I don’t like the main character then I’d find it hard to enjoy the book. Shame really!

  4. I’m not sure I would enjoy this book although the concept sounds intriguing. It’s just not the sort of book I would usually go for and her character doesn’t sound like one that would draw empathy from me, as a reader. #BloggerClubUK

I’m not sure this is the type of book I would read, I like the concept though and it does make me slightly jealous. A year in Mexico sounds lovely!

  6. Oh I really hate it when the ending of a book doesn’t live up to expectations! Good to read an honest review and the concept sounds good though. I think I would be tempted by the travel element but suspect that Cath would also annoy me by the end of it!

Hi everyone, it’s the author of Blokes, Beers & Burritos here. I’d like to thank Debbie for taking the time to read my book and for providing her honest review. I’m glad her followers have someone they can trust. I’m also glad some of you like the concept of self-help wrapped up in fiction. It was my way of getting self-help to women who wouldn’t usually pick up a self-help book, so I’m pleased with her verdict that it’s a good self-help read with a story (and I have also taken on board the areas for improvement!). I love how life constantly teaches us ways we can grow and develop.
