This week, we have Eileen, AKA Mitzi from Mitzi’s Messages taking part in the Blogger Spotlight interview.
If you would like to take part, and your blog is under six months old, or has been re-launched in the last six months, please email me firstname.lastname@example.org
1 Firstly, tell us a little bit about yourself
The loss of family members early in my life has been extremely difficult, and most recently I lost my dad to lung cancer and was with him until the end. I have been trying to figure out how to deal with death due to it being so much a part of my life. Most people will deal with loss at some point in their lifetime. The two years after my dad’s death were depressing, complicated, and dark. In receiving two treasures in 2012, my dad’s dog tags, and my grandmother’s chandelier, it meant so much to me, my attitude, and my outlook on my own life. I felt their presence and their love all around me. I knew that others in my situation had to feel the same way. If so, I wanted to help. So that became my mission….to help others talk about their loved ones who have passed and to tell their stories of their own personal keepsakes. Our military is very precious to me. We owe so much to our veterans that have served and protected our country. So this became my theme of my second book.
People were so excited, emotional, happy, and sad all in one, but it was all good. We laughed and cried talking about memories and stories of loved ones. Sometimes, those feeling are buried deep down due to the crazy hectic lives we all live, and sometimes it just hurts too much to think or talk about. Everyone’s comments were so supportive and positive. It really became a healing to all and made people feel good.
So, in this hectic life, I have decided to run a series of books titled “Unforgettable Faces and Stories”. We all need to stop and think about people in our lives, both past and present, and stories of those unforgettable magic moments.
2 What is your blog’s name and what is it about?
My blog is called Mitzi’s Messages. My dad wanted to name me Mitzi after Mitzi Gaynor. She is an actress, singer, and dancer from 50’s. My mom would not have anything to do with that, but my dad always called me Mitzi along with a handful of other family members.
Mitzi’s Messages moves along with the themes of my book series. I have six books out to date. My next book theme is….. starting over, a new beginning, a new chapter in YOUR life. My particular story will be me moving back home after 30+ years and will take you thru all the challenges of starting over, finding a job, a place to live, and everything else that is involved! My blog will highlight all of that and more!
3 Why did you decide to start a blog?
I decided to write a blog because people are always asking, “what’s happening now”, “what will the next theme be”, “what about this or that”. When you read one of my book series, you get to know these people and feel both the joy and the hurt that they go through. People want to be a part of my growing community of readers and storytellers.
4 Do you have any goals for your blog?
My goal for my blog is to build my community of Unforgettable Faces and Stories worldwide. I do have people from all over the world that have written stories in one of my book series.
