  1. What a lovely post for me to read on a Monday morning. I feel extra motivated as the sun is shining and I have the week off work, but to read these too is just the cherry on the cake.

Have a wonderful and inspired week.

  2. I love the quote about living vs existing. I have been working on living my life for the past 2 years. Still a work in progress because everyday things seem to keep me pretty busy but its something I consistently work on. I also love you last quote about magic. That is awesome! Thanks for hosting #anythinggoes Debbie!

  3. Alana - Burnished Chaos

These are all favourites of mine too. I have a huge notebook full of quotes that I have come across and loved. The one that always sticks in my head when I’m so bogged down with how much needs to be done to get to a certain outcome is “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” – Confucius
It reminds me to stop worrying about how far I have to go and concentrate on the next step, no matter how small, it’s all progress.

  4. The: do or do not quote is an interesting one. I often say this to my kids, but I hadn’t really thought of it in terms of a quote! I love quotes and you have picked out some great ones. I have so many favourites, so will just pick out: An expert in anything was once a beginner. It gives me hope πŸ™‚ Alison x #AnythingGoes

  5. Ross - The Stented Papa

Great post, right now, I’ve so many idea’s in my mind of where I want to bring my blog too, it’s making my head spin at times but this post and the quotes you’ve selected have really given me a positive ‘let’s get shit done’ attitude so highfive for that πŸ™‚

Personally, I’d always loved and go with ‘Weather you think you can, or you think you can’t – you’re probably right’. So for me #2 πŸ™‚ #AnythingGoes

  6. Mess and Merlot

I love a quote and my all time favourite is Oscar Wilde every time but Roald Dahl is defya close second! Lovely selection x #BloggerClubUK

You can’t go wrong with a few motivational quotes. The one you have here about living being rare is so true. I like it when quotes like this make you stop and think. #bloggerclubuk

  8. Some great ones here. Oscar Wilde might just be my favourite. I wrote a similar post last year called 10 Mantras I Believe In. Whenever i’m feeling a bit lost I look at them and they immediately make me feel better. #bloggerclubuk

  9. I love the Estee Lauder quote – it is a good reminder that no matter how much you dream of making all your goals a success, you have to actually work at them to achieve them. Writing them down and daydreaming is not enough! #bloggerclubuk

  10. Sarah - Sarahbel

I absolutely love the first quote! My dad’s favourite saying is that there’s no such thing as luck without handwork – and I think it’s the same sentiment. I try to remember that when I need motivation.

I love these, absolutely fabulous selection. I particularly like a quote from the new Disney Cinderella (despite finding that film hugely disappointing!) it goes ‘Have courage and be kind.’ It’s just such a simple thing, but so sweet.

  12. Some wonderful quotes here, I really do believe that success is made, and I love the one about there being no such thing as try. Either give your all or don’t! #bloggerclubuk

I love these..my favourite is definitely the Roald Dahl one. I’m not one for reading quotes usually but these all seem to make a lot of sense. Very motivating xx #anythinggoes #BloggerClubUK

  14. Coombe Mill

I love these quotes, the first one is very appealing, all those successful people need to have worked hard to be there, though a little luck and talent helps too! #BloggerClubUK

  15. Kirsty - Winnettes

I love the EstΓ©e Lauder quote! I have a dream I want to achieve and recently I realised that all the while I concider it a dream it won’t happen. So now it’s my goal so I can make it happen! I might pin this quote to my fridge as a daily reminder.

  16. I love the first quote – I quite often hear people say ‘so and so is lucky to have so and so’ when actually no, they worked hard to earn it! Whilst it’s great to have a dream, you have to work for it yourself, no-one is going to hand it to you on a plate! #BloggerClubUK

  17. I love all of these but particularly love the fact the you’ve featured Yoda! I regularly use that quote on my husband when he says he’ll try to get home early, try to stop at the shop etc. etc πŸ˜‰ #BloggerClubUK

  18. I’ve always been a fan of a quote by the South African golfer Gary Player. I forget the exact wording but it goes along the lines of “the harder I practise, the luckier I get”. #BloggerClubUK

  19. I love a good quote. I’m sure that’s what Pinterest was invented for. You’ll very often see quotes pinned to my Pinterest link on my blog! I find them so therapeutic!! Great post which you’ve inspired me to do one day, but how on earth do you pick them out of so many?! #anythinggoes

  20. Lisa@Intotheglade

Oh I love all of them! I have always loved CoCo’s philosophy on life and Roald Dahl was a genius. I think the Oscar Wilde one is my favourite from this collection though, so true xx #candidcuddles

  21. Rhyming with Wine

I love all of these but the last one in particular really struck a chord. My favourite quote goes hand in hand with a few of yours – “if you think you can, or think you can’t, you’re probably right”. I quote it at my little ones every day! Lovely post #candidcuddles x

  22. Ah Debbie, I’m sad to see Thought of the Week ending. I always loved your quotes for candid cuddles. If you ever do another quote round up please share it with the community! I love the one about living rather than existing best. I think that’s a good one to keep in mind all of the time! Thanks so much for coming back to join #candidcuddles.

    • I will still be doing the odd quote post, just not every week, and I will definitely be linking them up with you πŸ™‚ It’s definitely good to keep in mind – there’s a huge difference being living and existing. Thanks for hosting πŸ™‚

Coco and Oscar. They were just ridiculously eloquent and insightful weren’t they?! I love this. Thanks so much for joining #candidcuddles Debs!
