Exactly! For all we can’t necessarily celebrate it in the same way as the US do, its still good to be thankful πŸ™‚

Thank you πŸ™‚ I’m glad you liked it, and yes there is always something to be thankful for, even at the darkest times! Thanks for hosting πŸ™‚

This might sound cheesy, but I’m thankful for the blogging community. When I started my blog, I had no idea there even was a community. You guys are great, and I love the little glimpses of lives and people I wouldn’t have known without this community.

    • Debbie, My Random Musings

I don’t think that’s cheesy at all, I totally agree with you. The blogging community rocks! I thought it would be all very cut throat, bloggers slagging each off etc but it’s not like that at all, it’s lovely πŸ™‚

  2. Laura @ Life with Baby Kicks

I’m thankful for those things too. Well except the job because I don’t have one, but I’m thankful that I don’t need to get one out here. I am thankful that my husband has a job, especially in a world where redundancies are happening daily. #kcacols

    • Debbie, My Random Musings

Yes, I think the job one can work two ways – being thankful you have one, or thankful you don’t if it’s by choice πŸ™‚

  3. Becky (@educatingr)

I’m thankful for all those things too! A great post reminded us what is important in life. Thank you #JustAnotherLinky

    • Debbie, My Random Musings

Thank you πŸ™‚ I totally agree – its so easy to think about what we want, but when we appreciate what we have, often we realise we don’t need anything else! x

  4. I’m thankful for those things too, also for my own little family (husband and girls) and that we are all healthy. I’m thankful for being able to find something that I’m passion about and that I’m being supported to go ahead with this by my husband, family and friends and thankful that I’m able to spend more time with my kids as I’m a SAHM. What a nice post Debbie. Thanks for sharing this at #KCACOLS. So happy to have you again for this week! πŸ™‚

  5. I am one of those people who doesn’t have a job and some days it gets to me so I try to look at it in a different way that inspires gratitude like being able to spend more time with my kids, I get to write more, and I get to focus on my own self-reflection. It’s a great quote Debbie. I’m so glad you shared it! Visiting from #anythinggoes

    • Debbie, My Random Musings

That’s a fab way of looking at it Michelle! Both ways have their good points and their bad, it’s all about how we choose to see it πŸ™‚ Thank you!

  6. Tracey Abrahams

I am thankfull for the roof over my head, the food in my cupboards and the fact that fate sent me the most wonderful man who is now my husband xx #anythinggoes

Well said! We should always think about things we should be thankful for to put things into perspective and lessen our feeling of discontentment which turns into a lot of negativity. #anythinggoes

    • Debbie, My Random Musings

Thank you πŸ™‚ I totally agree – if you look for the positive, that’s what you’ll find and the same for the negative!

  9. My three things right now would be: the fact my husband is okay after being hit by a minibus when cycling to work last week, the fact my boys are starting to play together and seem to be firm little friends, and the cup of tea I’ll have in a minute (kettle’s boiling!).

    Lovely little post.

  10. Katie (Growing Up KaterTot)

Being thankful is something that I try to remember to do every day. I think that gratefulness is what keeps us humble and able to enjoy even the littlest things in life (such as that biscuit you mentioned.) Today I am thankful for family outings. I’m excited to take a road trip with my husband and daughter this afternoon, even if it’s just to the store. Thank you so much for hosting #AnythingGoes!

    • Debbie, My Random Musings

When you really stop and think about what you are grateful for it makes you realise how much you have πŸ™‚ Hope you enjoyed your shopping trip! Thanks for linking up πŸ™‚

    • Debbie, My Random Musings

Great choices, especially number 3, love the simplicity yet deepness of it πŸ™‚ Thanks for linking up x

  11. Cheryl @ ReimerandRuby

Lovely post! yes, there’s loads of things to be thankful of… I’m thankful for the love of my family, for my job and my husband’s that provided us with a lot of things, thankful for my kids that made me laugh all the time. Thankful for my blogging community for being an inspiration. #AnythingGoes

  12. Agent Spitback

Lovely post! Loved these lines – “In our darkest moments, when things go wrong, you are down and can’t see the positive easily, when life just doesn’t seem fair, that is the time it is most important to think about what you do have to be thankful for.” That is so insightful and true! I am grateful for the small things we sometimes take for granted – like clean water, air and food (you know how I feel about Cake πŸ™‚ ). Thanks for hosting #anythinggoes

    • Debbie, My Random Musings

Thank you πŸ™‚ That’s a good list because a lot of people in the world aren’t lucky enough to have the things we think of as basics. I love how you gave cake a mention lol πŸ™‚ You’re welcome, thanks for linking up!

  13. Rachel (Lifeofmyfamilyandme)

I love reading these posts. I think it is really important not to take things for granted and when we are having a time in our live when we need a pick me up, this is the type of post to read. I am so thankful for my family, children and our health. I have so much to be thankful for, it is important not to forget them. Thanks so much for linking up at #KCACOLS. Hope you come back again next Sunday

    • Debbie, My Random Musings

Sometimes we don’t realise how much we have to be thankful for until we actively think about it, and then we realise how much good there is in our lives. Thank you and thanks for hosting πŸ™‚

  14. wendy

This is a lovely post and I totally agree, focussing on positive things is a much better way to live than constantly dwelling on the negatives. I am thankful for my amazing husband and our beautiful son.. I also agree with number2 on your list, I am so happy I was born in the UK and not in to a country that suffers with war and poverty..we really are lucky for that one.xx #AnythingGoes

    • Debbie, My Random Musings

Thank you πŸ™‚ I think you are much more likely to be happy if you look for the good rather than the bad. We really are lucky in this country. x

  15. Mommy's Little Princesses

Those are all really good things to be thankful for. Like you I’m thankful my family and family. I’m also thankful the roof I have over my head and that my girls have everything they need.xx #KCACOLS

    • Debbie, My Random Musings

Those are good ones too, often our home is something we take for granted, but a lot of people don’t have that! x

  16. Trista, Domesticated Momster

It is so true that we should be thankful all year instead of only mentioning it during the holidays. I try to remind myself, even on the bad days, that I am so lucky in so many ways. It’s so easy to dwell on the negative sometimes but I really try to remember that there are so many more people who are worse off than me. Thanks again for hostessing Debbie πŸ˜‰ Another thing I’m thankful for!

    • Debbie, My Random Musings

I think often the good outweighs the bad, just we tend to see the bad easier so it seems there’s more of it around. You are right, there is alsways someone worse off than us and its important to be thankful for what we have πŸ™‚ Thanks for linking up!

  17. Something Crunchy Mummy

Lovely post. And 3 great things to be thankful for. Totally agree with the friends one. Thanks for linking up with #justanotherlinky xx
